About today’s guests

Dr. Jo, Women’s Holistic Healer; Life, Wellness, & Spiritual coach; Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Meditation, & Mindfulness Teacher

Dr. Jo

Dr. Jo’s mission is to help women identify and celebrate their unique identity, boldly use their voice, and proudly take up space.

She incorporates techniques from both eastern and western medicine to facilitate mind/body/spirit healing, and evolution and has her doctorate in clinical psychology.

Dr. Jo works with all women’s issues, and especially loves working with women who struggle with negative body image and disordered eating, since this is something she knows well, having personally struggled. She loves helping women feel confident, strong, & empowered. She’s also passionate about helping women tell their story without shame. There is power in storytelling and she always says secrets equal shame. One of her favorite sayings is (author unknown): “To listen a person into full existence is perhaps the greatest gift you can give.” For her, the greatest gift is being the listener, the witness.

Dr. Jo’s business is called Tula Soul. The word ‘tula’ means ‘balance’ in Sanskrit, ‘wind’ in Finnish, and ‘poem’ in the Phillipines.

Jo lives with her husband and their pet fish; is very close to her parents and two sisters; one 13 months older and one 2 years younger. While she isn’t a parent, she is a very involved Auntie to a 4-year old nephew who lives just a couple miles away, and mothers in many other ways through her work, mentoring and volunteering.

She fell in love with yoga in a yoga/body image group when I was in treatment for anorexia. Jo had a profound thought, “I don’t have to loathe my body,” and experience embodiment for what felt like the first time. She started yoga teacher training the day she got out of treatment. Since then, Jo’s completed over 1,000 hours of yoga teacher training, and yoga remains a necessary component of her life. For her, It is a practice and a way of life, not an exercise.

Before she transitioned to women’s coaching, Jo was a clinical psychologist and had a successful private practice where she specialized in trauma.

Jo has published poems and leads women’s poetry circles because she believes that women’s stories lend themselves to the nuance and rhythm of poetry (and she’s not talking about rhyming or a particular format).

Jo’s best friend (and yoga teacher) designs a clothing line “Be a Kind Human” and she helps her sell those at Farmer’s Markets and pop-ups!

Dr. Jo was also voted Alignable’s Best Local Business Person of 2022!

Ryan Brimmer, Coach

Ryan Brimmer grew up in the network marketing industry. The constant struggle of doing the work he was told to do and not getting any results led him down a path of alternative answers. What he found was nothing short of remarkable. He found that energetically he was showing up to his business and interactions with a scarcity mindset, one of lack, and fear. Through that path he found meditation, and through meditation he was able to change his vibrational frequency, and as a result, while still doing the same work, start seeing substantial results. His meditative practices are now daily and continues to show up to the world as the best version of himself, the one that he creates mentally and vibrationally every single day.

Ryan served for 20 years in the US Air Force. He served for two years in northern Italy, and for 12 years in southern Arizona. He’s been deployed to Africa and Iraq. His son just signed to the 10th ranked junior college in the country and he enjoys spending his free time watching him play. Ryan also owns a ranch in northeastern Wyoming where he spends time at various points throughout the year slowing life down. In addition to Ryan’s network marketing business he also, works in solar sales, and a full time career as a IT healthcare consultant.
